The death of George Floyd last week in Minnesota sparked protest across the nation. People around the country are taking to the streets demanding justice and an end to systemic racism.
We live in a system designed to limit opportunities for people of color. Institutional racism is inherent in education, the justice system, jobs, and all corners of our society. We are allies against injustice and stand in solidarity with communities of color. These communities must be heard. We stand in support of Black founders and Black-led organizations whose voices are necessary for change.
In support of communities of color in the cities where we operate - Baltimore, MD and Washington DC - SmartLogic is offering grants of $500-$1,500 to Black-led community organizations. We are seeking suggestions for local organizations to support by Friday June 5, 2020. The organization must be a 501c(3) or have a 501c(3) fiscal sponsor. Funds will be distributed by Friday June 12, 2020. Please contact [email protected] to suggest organizations or request funds for your organization.
