We believe in good corporate citizenship.
We give back to the community in a number of ways, including sponsoring meetups and conferences, charitable giving, and volunteering.
-
In 2018 we ran a very successful apprenticeship program, bringing three promising Junior-level developers up to the skill level needed for the kind of work we do.
-
MicroGrants and Donations
Our latest community program is the COVID SLAM; other programs from the recent past include $10k to Black-led organizations in 2020 and the Baltimore Women in Tech Micro Grant program which ran in 2017 and 2018.
-
Volunteering
SmartLogic team members contribute to a number of initiatives as volunteers, including open source development, organizing civic hack events like Hack Baltimore, and in-person volunteering at events like the Hour of Code.
-
Conferences
We attend, present at, and sponsor a number of national and regional tech events including ElixirConf, RESTFest, and ChainReact.
-
Open Source
We’re committed to open source; we only use open source technologies in our applications.
-
Local Events
We’ve been sponsoring meetups in Baltimore since 2010; we sponsored 73 events in 2018 alone.
