California Dreaming: Insights from the SmartLogic Internal Conference
This cold and snowy winter in Baltimore has us dreaming about summer weather. Luckily, we were able to escape to warmer temperatures a few weeks ago. The whole SmartLogic team headed west for a weeklong retreat in California last month.
We spent the first few days of our trip in the Santa Barbara area where we were treated to beautiful views and amazing dinners cooked by Sam Goldman, engineering manager by day and amazing chef by night. When we weren't eating all of the amazing things Sam made for the team we checked out the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden and hiked. Luckily we had developer Matt Menefee pulling double duty as our resident photographer for the trip so we can remember all of the fun we had.
Then we headed down the coast to sunny Santa Monica for the rest of our trip. While we had plenty of fun enjoying the beach, the Santa Monica Pier and an afternoon in Hollywood we did manage to get some work done.
At SmartLogic we're committed to keeping up on our skills and constantly learning new things. Part of that education is sharing with each other, so while we were all together in California we held an internal conference.
Everyone presented on a topic of their choosing and we all came away with new knowledge. We don't want to keep the information to ourselves so we've included some of the presentations in this post. You can check out the rest of the presentations on our YouTube page.
